Our club offers a multitude of social opportunities for retirees and semi-retirees of all ages, and we have many singles and couples amongst our membership. The majority of our members are from the North Nanaimo and Lantzville areas, but members from outside those areas are equally welcome to join.
We have activity groups covering a wide range of interests including Bridge, Photography, Golf, Walking, Crafts and Book Clubs to name only a few. There is a full list elsewhere on the website.
We are affiliated to Probus Canada which is a national association of active clubs for retirees and semi-retirees who share similar interests. In all there are 240 active Probus clubs in Canada, with over 34,000 members. Probus Canada is itself part of the world-wide Probus movement, which began in the UK in 1965, and currently has over 4000 clubs and over 300,000 members. Click HERE to find out more about Probus.
We hold our general meetings at St Philips Church Hall, Lantzville on the fourth Thursday of each month and these include coffee/tea, socialising and a guest speaker. Our August meeting is replaced with a BBQ and games event, and instead of the December meeting we have our Christmas Dinner.
